US artistes should learn from their Nigerian counterparts, says Kanye West

Kanye West has called on artistes in the United States to step up their business game by learning from their counterparts in Nigeria, China, and India.

In a recent interview with DJ Akademics, the 47-year-old rapper said he believes that many US artistes lack financial independence and industry control, relying too heavily on external management, lawyers, and record labels.

West also expressed frustration over the way American artistes handle their careers, arguing that they often don’t understand their contracts, finances, or business strategies.

He criticised the industry’s “reliance on Jewish investors and lawyers,” claiming that they exerted significant control over US artistes’ businesses.

“When you start, I administer pain, mentally. Because none of these n*ggas [rappers] are as smart as me. I can’t say for at the least, the tech dudes,” he said.

“That’s some other sh*t. But artistes are dumb, bro. It’s like, they can’t even f*cking count, bro. Jewish people and lawyer run their whole sh*t [businesses] like the contracts, the setups etc.

“Okay, go and ask them to run a whole record label without a Jewish person. I will take back what I had to say. Go and set up your whole TV network, make it run, no Jewish investor let me see how that works.

“Until motherf*ckers can really get their stuff together like the Nigerians, the Chinese, the Jewish or like the tech Indian or some sh*t, everything I’m saying counts.”

The rapper recently attacked Jay Z’s family, questioning the mental capacity of his colleague’s children.

He also released a lengthy list of artistes, colleagues, and family members who he claimed have betrayed him.
