President Bola Tinubu is currently meeting with Nuhu Ribadu,
national security adviser (NSA), and Christopher Musa, chief of defence staff
(CDS), at the State House.
The meeting appears connected to the security concerns in
some parts of the country, especially in Benue state and Plateau state.
The president had returned to the country on Monday night
after 19 days in France and the United Kingdom.
During his absence from the country, there were reports of
killings and abductions in many parts of the country.
Opposition leaders like Atiku Abubakar have expressed
concerns over the president’s continued stay abroad “as Nigeria bleeds”.
Since the beginning of the month, many have been killed in
some communities in Plateau state.
Benue state also recorded violent attacks as over 50 people
were killed in Ukum and Logo LGAs on April 18.

Those fighting terrorism in Nigeria are probably wrongly equipped or they are sympathisers to the terrorist organisation. How can a country be fighting against terrorism since 20 almost years ago without any amelioration. Look at Mali, Bukina Faso and Niger Republic, they have been able reduce terrorist attacks in their respective countries in less than two years with massive fire power from their soldiers. Russia armed them with sophisticated weapons, Mobil satellite, drones and intelligence gathering equipment which some European soldiers have not. Here in Nigeria, our military deploys ground forces to fight against terror groups instead of using combat helicopters to attack them and destroy terrorist logistics and their routes of arms supply. Those responsible for military procurement in Nigeria should sideline American weapons and get sophisticated and adaptable weapons from Russia, China, Turkey or Iran. Some US missiles are codified and when foreign countries buys them, they don’t know that most weapons purchase from the US can be controlled from the pentagon. They have the technology and possibility modify trajectory of missiles bought from the US. This’s why most countries are refusing to purchase fighter planes from the United States like the F 16 planes, because they can control their strike trajectory in the US Defence Department. America and his allies does not want Nigeria to win the war against terrorism, they want Nigeria to pay the high price so that the country will be stagnant economically, financially and politically. But, our leaders still don’t understand western hegemonic policies towards African nations, instead, they continue to honour them as slave master’s at all costs. Steps taken by Mali, Niger Republic and Burkina Faso is the only way out for Nigeria to develop and surprise the world but not by worshipping the west and giving them all our resources to develop their own country and the future of their citizens
