No fewer than seven persons have been recorded dead in a fatal road crash that occurred along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
The crash involved three vehicles, a Mack truck with
registration number SEY363YY, a tanker registered as T2900LA and a yellow bus LSD180YA.
The accident which happened at about 7 a.m on Saturday
involved 15 passagers .
The 14-seater bus being removed by emergency service workers from the accident scene.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the Federal
Road Safety Corps, Ogun Sector Command, Florence Okpe, attributed the cause of
the crash to excessive speed on the part of the truck driver.
Okpe state the truck lost control and rammed into the other
two vehicles.
She said, “A total of 15 people were involved which
comprised of thirteen male adults and two female adults, four persons were
injured, that is three male adults and one female adult, while seven people
were recorded dead from the multiple crash (six male adults and one female
adult).
“ The suspected cause of the multiple crash was excessive
speed on the part of the Mack truck which led to loss of control and rammed
into the other two vehicles”
According to her, the injured victims were taken to Divine
Touch Hospital and Glory Center Hospital Ibafo, while the bodies of the dead
were deposited at Idera morgue Sagamu and the crash vehicles towed off the road
for free Flow of traffic.
The Sector Commander, Fasakin Akinwumi, on visiting the
scene, sympathized with the families of the crash victims and enjoined them to
contact FRSC IBAFO for more information.
