Nigerian artist Shallipopi has stirred conversations online following his reaction to the 17th Headies Awards.
Taking to Twitter after the event, Shallipopi openly stated that he doesn’t consider himself a rapper and urged that awards in rap categories should go to true rappers.
"I nor go even lie for una sef, I nor want that award. Give the real rappers wey dey the category. Me, Shallipopi, I nor be rapper," he wrote.
He also joked that fans should remind him to bow out of rap categories if nominated again.
His candid statement has sparked mixed reactions online with the majority praising him for his humility.
