Police probe theft of NSA official vehicle during Friday prayers in Abuja

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has begun a full-scale investigation into the disappearance of a black Toyota Hilux assigned to the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), Nuhu Ribadu.

The vehicle was reportedly stolen while an ONSA official was attending Juma’at prayers on Friday in Abuja.

According to insider sources, the vehicle was parked around 1:05 p.m. directly opposite the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) complex in Area 10.

The official had left the vehicle to observe prayers at a nearby mosque. However, upon returning, the car was nowhere to be found.

Security analyst Zagazola Makama, who first disclosed the incident via X (formerly Twitter), revealed that the case was swiftly reported to the Garki Police Division by 2:00 p.m., prompting an immediate response from security operatives.

Following the report, the FCT Police launched a citywide stop-and-search operation, deploying officers to various checkpoints across major entry and exit routes in the capital.

Police authorities confirmed the incident and said a coordinated investigation is ongoing.

Efforts are currently focused on recovering the missing vehicle and bringing the perpetrators to justice.
