Kunle Remi, the Nollywood actor, and Tiwi, his wife, have welcomed their first child together following a challenging medical journey.
The actor took to his Instagram page on Wednesday to
announce the birth of their newborn while expressing his gratitude to God.
He also shared clips from the hospital where the baby was
delivered.
“This joy we have! I still don’t even understand how God works but he shows up and shows off! Tiwi, an angel. Just after happy new year, Wonder was born at 26weeks! We are telling this story a page at a time,” he wrote.
The actor revealed their daughter’s names as Wonder and Eemi
Oluwa, which means the breath of God.
He also accompanied the footage with a lengthy caption where
he narrated the ups and downs of parenthood and Kiwi’s pregnancy journey.
The hardships they endured, according to him, include a
difficult medical discovery, prolonged bed rest, and over 80 days of
faith-driven visits to the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).
“From an unexpected and unsettling medical discovery… to
complete bedrest. From juggling demanding work schedules… to hopping on
flights, both locally and internationally,” he added.
“From being apart… to finally being together.From an early
arrival… to the unfolding of God’s perfect timing. From waiting, countless NICU
visits, and clinging to God for 11 weeks and 3 days (that’s 80 days of faith).
Our story is living proof that God is God — unfailing, unwavering, and faithful
till the very end. We’ve been blessed with a WONDER. We’ve been blessed with
EEMI OLUWA — the BREATH OF GOD.”
Fans and colleagues have since taken to the comment section
to congratulate the couple on their newborn.
Kunle and Tiwi’s wedding became public after the actor
unveiled her on New Year’s Day in 2024.
The couple held their traditional and white wedding on
January 19 and 20 of the same year.
Tiwi had revealed that she married Kunle because she adored
his physical, mental, and emotional characteristics.
She said she admires his humourous character and that she
was first attracted to the actor’s witty personality.
On his part, Kunle said he was attracted to Tiwi’s
confidence and physical attributes.
