WHO asks US to reconsider withdrawal, seeks constructive dialogue

The World Health Organisation (WHO) has implored the United States to reconsider its withdrawal from the global health body.

After his inauguration as the 47th president of the United States, Donald Trump signed an executive order kick-starting the process of pulling the country out of the WHO.

The order said the US was withdrawing “due to the organization’s mishandling of the Covid-19 pandemic that arose out of Wuhan, China, and other global health crises, its failure to adopt urgently needed reforms, and its inability to demonstrate independence from the inappropriate political influence of WHO member states”.

The executive order also said WHO required “unfairly onerous payments” from the US that are disproportionate to the sums provided “by other larger countries such as China”.

In a statement on Tuesday, the WHO expressed regret over the move, saying the US has participated in shaping and governing the organisation’s work since joining in 1948.

The organisation said for over seven decades, it has, alongside the US, saved countless lives and protected Americans and other nationals from health threats.

“Together, we ended smallpox, and together we have brought polio to the brink of eradication. American institutions have contributed to and benefited from membership in WHO,” the statement reads.

“With the participation of the United States and other Member States, WHO has over the past 7 years implemented the largest set of reforms in its history, to transform our accountability, cost-effectiveness, and impact in countries. This work continues.

“We hope the United States will reconsider and we look forward to engaging in constructive dialogue to maintain the partnership between the USA and WHO, for the benefit of the health and well-being of millions of people around the globe.”

  1. WHO is an international organisation that is responsible for producing sicknesses and not to find solutions to them in the entire world, and I am happy about the withdrawal of the United States from the illicit organisation that is bent on destroying Africa most especially. After facades of its existence, they have been unable to recherche on the real cause of Small pox, typhoid, cholera, yellow fever, malaria and other deadly diseases which are essentially found in Africa. I have the impression that they voluntarily wanted Africans dead every year from these tropical diseases, especially when the globalist wants to depopulate the world starting from Africa. If WHO wants these diseases cured, it would have been better to have them removed from Africa by having adorable cures that would save millions of lives dying in Africa yearly.. I blame African countries, what stops them from carrying out their recherches on these diseases that could be transmitted by humans to other. Africa is capable of producing medicine and vaccines to cure them in Africa. This’s why Africa must decouple from the west , because even if they happen to recherche and produce these remedies, they will be forced to make them approved by WHO or by all the permanent members of the Security Council. This means that we are still under the control of WHO and the western countries and don’t want Africa to find solutions to their own problems but rather, rely on them in order to dehumanise our potentials. Africa should have their own bureau of approval for whatever the invent and produced in Africa. Africa shouldn’t go as far asking western countries whether or not they should market their products produced in Africa or not, this is totally unacceptable and it’s neocolonialism of the highest order. When aircrafts are produced in west, they don’t need to ask Africa does not whether they should fly? Africa has no no word to say whether they should fly or not, but why should they tell us that our products should be exported from Africa to the rest of the world or not. It’s absurd.
