The APC Christian Forum has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to address what it described as the continued marginalization of Christians in Kano State by some leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a statement signed by the Forum’s Chairman, Emmanuel Agbakoba, and Secretary, Benjamin Aman, the group accused party officials in the state of excluding the Christian community from the distribution of palliatives.
The Forum noted that while Christmas palliatives were reportedly sent to Christian communities across 35 states, Kano was left out.
“We supported the APC at all levels and played our part during elections. Yet, it is disheartening that Christians in Kano are consistently sidelined when initiatives meant to benefit party members are implemented. The exclusion of Kano from the Christmas palliatives is a glaring example,” the statement said.
The group also urged the APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, and the Kano State Chairman, Abdullahi Abbas, to address their grievances, stressing that the neglect goes beyond party members to the broader Christian population in the state.
“The current economic hardships affect everyone, including Christians in Kano. Unfortunately, we have been completely ignored during the palliative distribution” the Forum added.
The APC Christian Forum called for urgent intervention from President Tinubu and the party leadership to ensure equitable treatment for all communities in Kano.
