Jemima Osunde has opened up about her battle with Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori), a bacteria infection that has been a challenge to her health for three years.
H. pylori is a common type of bacteria that grows in the
digestive tract and tends to attack the stomach lining. When left untreated, an
H.pylori infection may lead to complications, including peptic ulcer and
stomach cancer.
In a post via X, the Nollywood star revealed that she
contracted the bacteria infection from the food she was given at a movie set in
Ibadan.
Osunde said the infection developed into gastroesophageal
reflux disease (GERD), leaving her in a constant battle for her health, with
the past month being particularly challenging.
“I’ve never regretted anything the way I regret taking that
job and going with them to Ibadan to shoot under their care,” she wrote.
“I got h pylori from set food and the aftermath GERD has
left me fighting for my life the last 3 years. The past month has really been
something. Sigh”
