Dotun Kayode, the on-air personality (OAP) better known as Do2dtun, has called out Soundcity, the music-based channel, over alleged unpaid salaries.
In a series of X posts on Wednesday, the OAP claimed the
music station has failed to pay its staff for eight months.
Do2dtun also questioned how Soundcity’s staff have managed
to cope with the situation.
“My friends and colleagues at Soundcity, how do you guys cope? No salary for 8 months? Mehn that’s crazy!!!!” he wrote.

No salary for 8 months ? Mehn that’s crazy!!!!
In another post, Do2dtun, who was once the host of
Soundcity’s greatest countdown on earth radio show, described the station’s
actions as “cruel and inhumane”.
The radio host of Cool FM also argued it is unnecessary to
run a station if staff salaries cannot be paid.
“It’s not by force to open a radio station. Owing your staff for 8 months is very cruel and inhumane. You don’t need a soothsayer to tell you this,” he wrote.

Several social media users also joined Do2dtun in criticising Soundcity’s “treatment of staff”.
No be this same sound city sacked some of their staffs few years ago when they demanded for their unpaid salary ni.

I worked there for just 1 month,I left after I saw how they ran the place like a mob house. They will still fire staff weekly for the most simple reasons & hire new ones to replace them almost immediately, just to make sure they don’t pay any1. Some are owed more than a year. Lol https://t.co/BVegKEB4Fu

Some radio station owners are nothing short of heartless. I can’t even begin to talk about the vileness I saw in that industry.

The popular Nigerian lifestyle and music channel has yet to
respond to Do2dtun’s allegations.
Soundcity is a pan-African urban music TV channel that
showcases music videos, live performances, news, and interviews with popular
acts. The channel has been associated with several well-known personalities,
including Moet Abebe and Denrele Edun.
Denrele Edun, a former employee of Soundcity, had a
controversial departure from the station in 2011. In a 2014 interview with
Rubbin Minds, the media personality revealed that he “was forced out of the
station”.
