Segun Showunmi, a former spokesperson for Atiku’s presidential campaign, has said President Bola Tinubu does not allow his appointees to do their job.
Showunmi is of the opinion that there is no cabal in
Tinubu’s administration as presumed by some sections of the populace.
Just recently a former Minister of Youths and Sports,
Solomon Dalung, reaffirmed the existence of a dangerous cabal in the Tinubu
administration.
Dalung said the dangerous cabal is influencing the decisions
of Tinubu’s administration.
The former minister insisted that members of the cabal were
pursuing their selfish and personal interest.
However, Showunmi told TVC that Tinubu is a cabal on his own
and does everything himself, adding that the Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila,
is not even allowed to do his job effectively.
“The problem with Tinubu presidency is not much of a cabal.
The problem I see in the Tinubu presidency is that some how, he has designed an
infrastructure of his government that does not allow the men he has put in
place to do the job they’re assigned to do,” he said.
“For example, if he should just allowed Femi Gbajabiamila,
his chief of staff, to do the job of a chief of staff effectively… they said
he’s cabal. Who’s a cabal under Tinubu? Bola Tinubu is his own cabal…nobody can
take responsibility. Nobody can be blamed. All other leaders should allow their
chief of staff to be strong. Conveniently so… He [Tinubu] has watered him
[Gbajabiamila] so down that…almost making it seem as if he[Tinubu] is alfamale,
he, he knows everything and unfortunately, presidency is like a golden cage.
“You’ll be sitting down and your boys you don’t give power
to go and do things for you, they won’t be able to effect anything. The claud
is gathering. Within Yoruba people, I tell you, cloud is gathering. You better
fix your men before it gets too late.”
