The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has set ₦8.33 million as the Hajj fare for intending pilgrims from Borno and Adamawa zone for the 2025 pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia.
This was disclosed by the Executive Chairman of NAHCON,
Prof. Abdullahi Usman, in a statement issued by the commission’s Assistant
Director of Information and Publication, Fatima Usara, on Monday in Abuja.
Prof. Usman said the fare announcement followed approval by
the Office of the Vice President and extensive consultations with stakeholders
to maintain affordability.
“The 2025 Hajj fare for Borno and Adamawa Zone’s intending pilgrims is ₦8.33 million,” the chairman confirmed.
He added that intending pilgrims from the Northern Zone
would pay ₦8.46 million, while those from the Southern States would pay ₦8.78
million.
“This modest effort on the fare was reached after extensive
consultations to ensure inclusivity in this important decision-making process,”
Prof. Usman stated.
He also appreciated the support of the presidency,
particularly Ameen Amshi, the Special Assistant to the President on Special
Duties, and the Forum of Executive Secretaries of State Pilgrims Welfare
Boards, Agencies, and Commissions.
The NAHCON chairman urged intending pilgrims to adhere to
the timelines and Saudi guidelines while emphasizing the importance of early
payment and timely registration to avoid last-minute challenges.
