The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has mandated all licensed telecommunications operators to update their contact details by January 9, 2025, in compliance with the Licensing Regulations 2019.
This directive aligns with the NCC’s efforts to enhance regulatory processes, improve industry oversight, and strengthen Nigeria’s telecommunications sector.
The Commission cautioned that non-compliance could attract penalties such as fines, license suspension, or revocation.
While specific sanctions were not outlined, the NCC underscored the critical role accurate contact information plays in fostering industry responsiveness and engagement.
Reuben Mouka, the NCC’s Director of Public Affairs, stated that operators must report changes to their contact details within seven days and submit updates through the Commission’s eServices platform at https://eservices.ncc.gov.ng.
The required information includes:
Principal place of business: Complete address with postcode, geographic coordinates, and notable landmarks.
Mailing address: If different from the main location.
Email contacts: Active and accessible email addresses.
Contact numbers: Updated and operational phone numbers.
Personnel information: Names and roles of individuals handling regulatory and operational matters.
The NCC emphasized that these measures aim to streamline communication and maintain effective collaboration within the telecom sector.
