The nominees for the highly anticipated 67th Academy Grammy Awards were on Friday unveiled, with several Nigerians making the list.
Yemi Alade, Asake, Wizkid, Davido, Lojay, Burna Boy and Tems
are nominated in the ‘Best African Music Performance’ category dominated by
Nigerians.

Tems was also nominated in the ‘Best R&B Song’ category alongside Ronald Banful for the song ‘Burning’.
The Nigerian songstress further secured her third nomination
in the ‘Best Global Music Album’ for her project ‘Born In The Wild’. Also in
the category is Rema for ‘Heis’ album.
Since Burna Boy first won the Grammy Awards in 2021, there has been an increased
representation of Nigerian artistes at the biggest award in music.
Beyoncé secured 11 nominations, breaking a tie to become the
most nominated artiste in Grammys history.
Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Charli XCX, Kendrick Lamar and
Chappell Roan are all nominated for major awards at the 2025 Grammy Awards.
