In the late 1990s, Gbenga Adeyinka “the first” rose to fame with the popular “Shine Shine Bobo” slogan while hosting a show. Known for his multilingual greetings, Adeyinka quickly became a household name.
In the comedy industry, he identifies himself as the
Comedian of the Federal Republic (CFR) and the Grand Comedian of Nigeria
(GCON).
Adeyinka is not only a comedian but also a writer, MC,
businessman, and soon-to-be author.
In this episode of the show, Adeyinka joins the studio to
discuss comedy, politics, and parenting.
He shares his views on Nigeria’s political landscape,
explaining why he supported Bola Tinubu’s presidency and why he believes that
young politicians like Peter Obi, Omoyele Sowore, Kingsley Moghalu, and Fela
Durotoye should begin their political careers as lawmakers.
Addressing the moral decline in society, Adeyinka says, “the
generation before was fairer to us than we are to the present generation,”
adding that “we failed to pass on what was passed on to us. A lot of us became
too busy to do what our parents did.”
The conversation also touches on social media censorship,
Adeyinka’s political affiliations and ambitions, and his views on the
#EndBadGovernance protest.
