Borno lists states, agencies, individuals that donated to flood victims

The Borno government has released the list of pledges and donations made by state and national assembly members, state governments, agencies, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), and individuals for victims of the recent flood in Maiduguri.

After the collapse of the Alau Dam last week, a huge torrent of water swept through the city, displacing over one million residents and damaging property.

More than 40,000 people are affected by floods, with some 37 deaths and 58 people injured reported so far.

The flooding in the city is one of the worst in over 30 years, leaving families and children without shelter, healthcare, school, clean water and food.

Abdurrahman Bundi, media aide to Babagana Zulum, Borno governor, said in a statement on Wednesday that not all amounts listed were credited to the Maiduguri relief fund.
