PHOTOS: CDS, security chiefs meet Niger Republic junta

Christopher Musa, chief of defense staff (CDS), has reportedly met with the leadership of the Niger Republic’s military junta.

Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency publication focused on the Lake Chad region, posted pictures of the meeting via X on Wednesday showing Musa alongside a delegation, including Emmanuel Undiandeye, the chief of defence intelligence.

The meeting was in Niamey, the Niger Republic capital, and focused on pathways to strengthen security in the Sahelian region plagued by terrorism.

  1. I heard the Nigeria Military Defence Staff General Christopher Musa saying that Niger military head of state should give a calendar on when they will be transferring power to civilians. I am sooty, as a military officer it is not his duty to go int defence politics with another sovereign country, he has no right whatsoever to do so. But, he has the absolute right to have bilateral defence strategy between both countries . He is indirectly interfering into the internal affairs of a sovereign country. He is also taking part on politics, knowing that, the U.S. and his NATO allies had pressured Nigeria to intervene militarily in Niger Republic because they could no longer afford to exploit Niger’s uranium for almost free of charge. Secondly, Niger military junta revoked all foreign licenses for the exploitation any mineral resources in the country. This was why the U.S. and France were so concerned about the situation and they tried to force President TINUBU to accept the deployment of an African Intervention troops to dislodge General TIANI of Niger. Bizarrely, the newly confederated states in Africa -MALI, BUKINA-FASO and NIGER, in a statement, warned TINUBU that, any attack on any of the three countries will result to a declaration of war on the entire west African region. However, it will be noted that, Mali alone is capable of destroying ECOWAS Army because of sophisticated weapons they have been pilling up with the help of Russia.against terrorism. So, I think that General Christopher made a huge mistake by advising Niger military representatives to hand over power to an elected government because he does not know how these francophone countries had suffered from France and his NATO allies, - it was a complete slavery. Highly placed people should ask competent experts to explain the history of any situation, you don’t just jump into analysis that could be internationally regrettable afterwards.
