Super Falcons captain, Rasheedat Ajibade, has declared the team’s readiness for the clash with Brazil.
The nine-time African champions will be up against the Samba Girls in their first game in the women’s football event at the 2024 Olympic Games on Thursday (today).
The encounter at the Matmut Atlantique Stadium, Bordeaux will kick-off at 6pm Nigeria time.
Brazil defeated the Super Falcons in their previous two meetings and are the overwhelming favourites to win the upcoming tie.
Ajibade, however, said the Super Falcons are battle ready for the task ahead.
“Playing in professional leagues, we encounter many players from different countries, including Brazil,” Ajibade was quoted by 54footballx.
“I can provide the team with insights on how specific players operate, especially those I have played with or against in Spain and Brazil. We can pool our knowledge to help the team succeed in the Olympics.”
