Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has urged
Christians to boycott the 2024 Olympic Games following an alleged mockery of
the religion at the opening ceremony in Paris, France, on Friday.
An attempt by Drag Queens to recreate da Vinci’s painting of
Jesus’ Last Supper during the Olympic Games opening ceremony has sparked a
worldwide uproar, especially from Christians who labelled it “blasphemy”.
Reacting via his X handle on Saturday, Fani-Kayode said the
development was “unacceptable”.
He described it as a “gratutious insult on Christianity”,
claiming that if it was done against Islam, Paris “would have rightly been on
fire by now”.
He wrote: “This gratutious insult on Christianity at the
opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics is unacceptable. Nothing depicts the
moral, religious and social degeneration of the West more than this show of
shame. If they had insulted Islam in this way Paris would have rightly been on
fire by now.
“Sadly Christians are far too accommodating and weak and are
comfortable with their faith being rubbished at every turn. I would be going
too far if I suggested that someone should have dropped a b*mb on them all at
this ceremony but the least we can do is to boycott the Olympics and refuse to
even watch it on television.
“As for Western civilisation, it is all over for them. These
shameful events in Paris prove that. They shall soon disappear like a puff of
smoke and the glory and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ shall fill the
world.”
