Nigeria is now four points off the top spot in Group C of the 2026 World Cup qualifying series in the African zone.
The Super Eagles suffered a shock 2-1 defeat to Benin Republic on Monday and now have only three points after four fixtures.
However, their chances of qualifying for the tournament took further blows on Tuesday.
This followed South Africa’s 3-1 win over Zimbabwe and Rwanda’s 1-0 win at Lesotho.
These results mean Rwanda, South Africa and Benin all have seven points as joint leaders.
Lesotho have five points in fourth place, while Nigeria have three points in fifth place.
