The federal government(FG) says 15 states could witness flooding as a result of torrential rainfall from June 21-25.
Haruna Ibrahim, spokesperson of the federal ministry of
environment, disclosed this on Sunday in a statement.
He listed the states as Adamawa (Abba Kumbo, Demsa, Farkumo,
Ganye, Gbajili, Jimeta, Mubi, Natubi, Shelleng, Song, Wuro- Bokki, Mayo-Belwa);
Benue (Agyo, Ugbokpo); Borno (Maiduguri); Jigawa (Hadejia);Kaduna (Kauru); Kano
(Gezawa, Gwarzo, Kano, Karaye, Kunchi, Wudil).
Others include Katsina (Daura, Jibia); Kebbi (Argungun,
Bagudo, Bunza, Gwandu, Ribah, Sakaba, Shanga, Yelwa); Kogi (Abejukolo, Omale,
Zugbe); Nasarawa (Gidan Dogo, Keana, Lafia, Loko, Rukubi, Tunga, Udeni);Niger
(Magama);Plateau (Langtang, Wase); Sokoto (Gagawa, Goronyo, Isa, Shagari,
Silame, Sokoto, Wamakko); Taraba(Bandawa, Donga, Kwata Kanawa, Lau, Ngaruwa,
Yorro);Zamfara(Anka, Bukkuyum, Gummi).
