The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory and former Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has slammed some leaders of the Rivers State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for declaring support for the current governor, Siminalayi Fubara.
Wike made this statement during a chat with newsmen on
Tuesday in Abuja.
Recall that PDP leaders in Rivers State, Abiye
Sekibo; ex-PDP National Chairman, Uche Secondus; ex-governorship aspirant,
Celestine Omehia; and ex-lawmaker, Austin Opara; had last week declared support
for Fubara and called on the President to caution Wike.
However, reacting on Tuesday, Wike said Sekibo, Secondus,
Omehia and Opara are all expired politicians who are not worthy to be called
“elder statesmen”.
The FCT minister said they were all irrelevant as he kicked
them out of the party.
Wike insisted that Secondus was no longer a member of the
PDP as his suspension was validated by the court.

Wike, I write to ask you to take it easy on Simi Fubara. You were and still are a rebel in all ramifications. There is nothing about you that shows that you had been a governor for 8yrs. You talk like children seeing power for the first time. I think you need to watch it. Nobody can win it all. Allow sleeping dogs have some peace.
