‘Forgive me if I wronged you’ — D’banj apologises to ex-Mo’ Hits members

D’banj, the ace Nigerian singer, has tendered an apology to the former members of Mo’ Hits Records.

Mo’ Hits Records was a Nigerian-based music record label owned by D’banj and Don Jazzy. It was founded in 2006. The label also signed artistes like Wande Coal, Dr SID, D’Prince, and K-Switch.

But in March 2012, Don Jazzy announced that D’banj had left the group.

In a statement on Wednesday, the Koko Master revealed that he will be putting out a track that “is dear to my heart” on Friday.

The singer also reminisced about his years in the music industry and the people who contributed to his growth.

D’banj praised his former Mo’ Hits mates for their achievements together over the years.

He also said he was done “blame gaming” while apologising to former label mates to forgive him, “If you feel I wronged you at any time”.

“Next week Friday, I’m dropping a track that is dear to my heart. It might be the best track of my career so far. Been at this game since ‘04,” he wrote in a statement.

“When I look back at my journey as your favourite entertainer, many names pop up in my mind for their various contributions to D’banj. Today, I celebrate Mo’ Hits.. the group and our team.

“What a SOLID team we had. Don Jazzy, Wande Coal, Dr. Sid, D’Prince and Kay Switch. My brothers were piping hot!! Together we elevated this game and showed them things that could happen.

“I’ve spent many years focusing on the blame game but I’m not playing that game anymore. If you feel I wronged you at anytime, forgive me.

“The philosopher in me is grateful for everything that went right and those that went wrong. Without those things, we won’t all be the Kings we are today killing it in our different endeavours 👌🏿.

“To all who have worked behind the scenes from Baba Are, Chuchu Lee, General Jay, Kamal, Bankuli , Ayo Sonaiya, Mozenge Lee, Cheekychizzy, Bizzle, Special Ed, Killz, Vanessa Amadi, Davin Phillips, Tonya Merit and everyone else, Banga is grateful. God bless us all.

“I love you all my Babylets, Kokolets, Mamalets and Kokomasters. Anticipate “Since ‘04” coming on 03/05. #20yoDB.”

D’banj recently celebrated 20 years in the creative industry.
