Who will win the NBA Western Conference in the 2023/2024 season: preview

The current regular championship of the National Basketball Association began at the end of October 2023, and will end in April 2024. After the end of the regular season, the first six teams from the Western and Eastern conferences will earn tickets to the 1/8 finals, and the clubs that take places from seventh to 10th will compete in a play-in for the right to make it to the playoffs.

The top four contenders to win the Western Conference are as follows: Denver Nuggets, Los Angeles Clippers, Phoenix Suns and Minnesota Timberwolves. To be more likely to predict the winner of the West, you need to study the form of each club from these four.

Denver Nuggets

Michael Malone's team looks pretty good in the current regular season, but not as confident as in the last championship season. After 55 matches played, Denver was in fourth place in the Western Conference. While behind the third-place Los Angeles Clippers in terms of additional indicators, the “nuggets” were three wins ahead of the fifth-place New Orleans. Having won 36 battles, the Colorado club suffered 19 defeats. It should also be noted that the defense of the brainchild of Stanley Kroenke was one of the strongest four in the West.

It won’t be easy for the “nuggets” to defend their title, but their chances of doing so are good. The competition in the West has increased, but Nikola Jokic and company are in a position to at least win the conference. If you want to make money from the National Basketball Association, then bet on this tournament after the bookmaker review.

Los Angeles Clippers

Tyroa Liu's boys are doing well in the regular championship and after 53 matches they are in third place in the West. Having played fewer battles, the Los Angeles club was one victory behind Oklahoma City and was ahead of fourth-place Denver in terms of additional indicators. Having suffered 17 defeats, the “hairdressers” won 36 matches. In addition, the California team had one of the best defenses in the conference.

“Barbers” have improved their game under their own shield, and under someone else’s shield Harden and George are performing great. After several disastrous seasons, the Clippers have finally found their game and can go quite far in the tournament.

Phoenix Suns

Frank Vogel's team is not stable during the regular championship, but after 55 games they managed to find themselves in sixth place in the standings. Although the entire fight for the playoffs is still ahead for the brainchild of Robert Sarver. Led by additional indicators to fifth New Orleans, Phoenix was one victory ahead of seventh Dallas. Having won 33 times, the “Sunny” suffered 22 defeats. At the same time, the “purple-orange-black-gray” had the worst defense in the top six.

Phoenix has not yet guaranteed itself a place in the top six, and if it finishes there, then from the 1/8 finals the team will face a more formidable opponent. Devin Booker and his partners will make every effort to perform confidently in the elimination battles, but this will be quite difficult.

Minnesota Timberwolves

Chris Finch's guys are the main discovery of the Western Conference of the current regular season. After 55 battles, Karl-Anthony Towns and his partners led the standings. With one more game played, Minnesota was two wins ahead of second place Oklahoma City. Having won 39 matches, the “timber wolves” lost 16 times. It should also be noted that the Minneapolis representatives had the best defense in the West.

Minnesota's team is quite good, but it's one thing to confidently go the distance in the regular season and quite another in the playoffs. The Timber Wolves may be able to reach the Western finals, but it will be extremely difficult to win the conference.

Our forecast

Phoenix will most likely not be able to last long in the relegation battles. Minnesota and Denver will likely compete to make it to the finals. There is an impressive chance that the Los Angeles Clippers will be waiting for either the Timberwolves or the Nuggets in the battle to win the conference. Considering the excellent form of the “hairdressers”, it would be a little risky, but not a bad decision to give preference to the Los Angeles team.
