The First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu has re-emphasized her call for stiffer punishment against terrorists and bandits who kidnap Nigerians and demand ransoms from their families.
Oluremi made the call on Thursday while receiving the three Senators representing the senatorial districts of Lagos State, Adetokunbo Abiru, Oluranti Adebule and Sikiru Osinowo.
She said “We should look into the laws we would bring up. On the issue of kidnapping, it is like we are in a war, a war against kidnapping and kidnappers.”
She spoke about the President’s effort to leave the country better than he met it, saying it demands sacrifice and courage.
“The administration of President Tinubu is resolute to leave a legacy for generations yet unborn. This takes a lot of sacrifice and courage,” she said.
Oluremi advised lawmakers to synergize and enact laws that will discourage the recurrent cases of kidnapping in the country.
Recall that Senator Oluremi Tinubu called for capital punishment against kidnappers during International Women’s Day 2024, following the abduction of schoolchildren in Kaduna.
She made this known through her media aide Busola Kukoyi, during a meeting with the national women leaders of the All Progressives Congress, APC, at the State House, Abuja.
