Atletico Madrid beat Inter Milan on penalties to reach the Champions League quarter-finals after Memphis Depay’s late strike secured a 2-2 aggregate draw on Wednesday.
Leading 1-0 from the first leg, Federico Dimarco doubled Inter’s overall advantage at the Estadio Metropolitano in the 33rd minute before Antoine Griezmann quickly equalised for Atletico on the night.
Depay struck in the 87th minute to force extra time before Jan Oblak saved two spot-kicks to help secure a 3-2 shoot-out victory.
