The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has revealed that Zack
Orji, the ailing film star, is getting better.
The actor was hospitalised on Friday after collapsing in
Abuja. Footage surfaced on Sunday, showing Orji bedridden and seemingly
writhing in pain.
Sources also said he had been grappling with fatigue for
weeks, rendering him unable to talk or move.
The AGN had earlier revealed that details about Orji’s health were still sketchy.
The guild also assured the public that they would notify the
public of any developments.
“It is true. He is currently in the hospital. They are
running tests on him,” the AGN had said.
Providing an update on Tuesday, Abubakar Yakubu, the
national secretary of the AGN, disclosed that the actor’s condition has
improved.
“He is getting better
now by God’s grace,” he said.
Remi Tinubu, the first lady, and Nana Shettima, the wife of
the vice president, also visited the ailing actor at the national hospital in
Abuja.
They were at the hospital to meet the first baby of the year.
Orji is a prominent name in Nollywood. He is renowned for
his roles in films like ‘The Bridge’, ‘Glamour Girls’, and ‘Blood Money’.
The actor has starred in hundreds of movies. Beyond acting,
Orji is also a director and film producer.
Orji was appointed a director of performing arts for the
presidential campaign council of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2023.
