Shehu Sani lists five things Tinubu should tell US Secretary of State, Blinken

A former federal lawmaker, Shehu Sani, has set agenda for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the proposed visit of the United States Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken.

Blinken is billed to meet Tinubu and Ivory Coast President, Alassane Ouattara on Tuesday in a bid to forge a united front with key African democracies.

In Abidjan, Blinken will meet Ouattara, a veteran leader, who has won US praise for strengthening democracy, before heading to Abuja to see Nigerian Tinubu.

Writing on X, Sani, who represented Kaduna Central District in the 8th National Assembly, listed five areas Tinubu should focus on when meeting with the American politician.

“When the US Secretary of State, Blinken visits Nigeria, our President should use the opportunity to tell him the following truths; that Nigeria is unambiguously opposed to the Israeli genocidal activities in Gaza and we want an immediate ceasefire and end to the occupation of the land of Palestine.

“That the US should end all arms restrictions against our country and support our war against bandits, terrorists and kidnappers.

“That the US should end all sanctions against Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger Republic and other West African countries and support ECOWAS’ peaceful efforts to democratic transitions.

“That the US should pay reparations to Nigeria and other African and Caribbean countries for their centuries of Trans-Atlantic slave trade and exploitation.”

  1. The Meeting between Blinken and President TINUBU is to continue to pressure and persuade Nigeria government led by Tinubu to intervene militarily in Niger, BUKINA Faso and Mali because, America wants to protect his interests in the Sahel Region. These three countries have already formed a confederation and the fact that they are the major countries that make up SAHEL REGION with huge mineral resources and reserves, the west especially the US is not happy that they can no longer dictate to them how they should sell their resources to the west at a give away price. Some western countries go as far to steal their resources. America and Nigeria has no right to intervene in the affairs of any country. This is why President Tinubu must resist US pressure not to go to war with African countries that are being governed by military juntas. Nigeria had several military coup, did the U.S. intervened? In most cases, they were behind most of those coup d’état that happened in Nigeria. By the way, why should Nigeria government accept US embargo for him to procure certain arms. If America does not want to sell arms to Nigeria, they should go to Russia. This was what DRC has been facing since decades ago and they could not safeguard their population from excessive killing by army rebels which the west and KAGAME’s government created to spill the blood of DRC citizens in other to control their natural resources. Today, the new DRC President undermined NATO arms embargo and acquired sophisticated weapons from Russia, and DRC is getting stabilised. Nigeria should patronise Russia weapons because they have the best weapons than any other country of the world. The war in Ukraine is a typical proof of Russia superiority over NATO interns of sophistication. America does not want good for Nigeria. A small country like Mali has been able to defeat terrorists groups in his country with Russia weapons and not American. Why should Nigeria government accept US humiliation.
