AFCON: Super Eagles battle ready for Cote d’Ivoire – Pascal

Super Eagles team coordinator, Patrick Pascal says the team is fully focused on getting a win against Cote d’Ivoire in their second game at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Super Eagles started their campaign with a disappointing 1-1 draw against Equatorial Guinea.

Jose Peseiro’s side will be looking to record their first win of the competition when they take on the hosts at the Alassanne Quattara Stadium on Thursday (today).

Pascal posited that the players are fully ready for the task ahead.

“Everybody is looking forward to the game with confidence.

“The players are focused and are ready to make Nigerians proud,” Pascal told newsmen at the team’s Pullman Hotel base in Abidjan.

“We are not thinking about the first game again, that is behind us. We have prepared well and there is strong optimism that we will get a positive result.

“The task will be difficult but we have a team that can get the job done. The experience of playing in a big game like this will be vital for us.”

The encounter will kick off at 6pm Nigeria time.
