Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro has revealed Alhassan Yusuf will not feature in the team’s Group A clash against the Elephants of Cote.
Yusuf will miss the game after picking a thigh injury in the Super Eagles clash with Equatorial Guinea on Sunday.
Peseiro, however, said the midfielder will be available for the Super Eagles’ last group game against the Djurtus of Guinea-Bissau.
“Yusuf is out of the game against Cote d’Ivoire. We hope he will be able to play the next game against Guinea-Bissau,” Peseiro told a press conference on Wednesday.
“The good thing is that it is not a serious injury. He did the test yesterday and it was not something serious.”
The Royal Antwerp midfielder made his competitive debut for the Super Eagles against the Nzalang Nacional.

Yusuf has no right to even play in third division in Nigeria. Why does he come up each time there’s match. This player went on retirement himself and some people went to bring him back into the National team when he can no longer run after the ball. He is done, why should the manager force him or select him to play when he can not deliver. Or, are politicians involved in his return? Has football turned to politics and ethnic affairs?
