Rigobert Song hopes the Indomitable Lions can record another important win against the Super Eagles at the Felix Houphouet Boigny.
Cameroon won the first of her four AFCON titles on the ground in 1984.
The Indomitable Lions defeated the then-Green Eagles 3-1 in a thrilling final match.
Song will lead his charges out in a Round of 16 contest against the Super Eagles at the newly renovated stadium on Saturday night (today).
The gaffer is keen to see his side replicate the feat of their heroes.
“Cameroonians do not want to understand that we have a new generation of players. They must copy their elders. The stadium on which we will play tomorrow is the one which made it possible to write the history of Cameroon,” Song said during his interaction with the media at the Palacais de la culture, Trechville on Friday.
“We want to stay in history. We are here to go as far as possible in the competition.”
