Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has reacted to the death of popular Yoruba activist, Olanrewaju Adepoju, also known as Lanrewaju Adepoju.
The activist who was also a poet, author and writer died on Sunday.
Makinde in a condolence message, made available to the media on Monday, described the late Adepoju as one of Oyo’s worthy ambassadors in the entertainment industry.
The Governor noted that the deceased used his talents through music, poems, songs and artistic works to correct social vices across the country while he was alive.
“I express my deep condolences to the family of Pa Olanrewaju Adepoju, the renowned social crusader, who used poetry and music to correct social ills.
“Baba Olanrewaju Adepoju was a great ambassador of the Pacesetter State, who flew the flag of the state as a social crusader and made a huge impact on the society.
“My prayer is that God grants repose to his soul and protects the family he left behind.”
Olanrewaju Adepoju who hailed from Ibadan, died in his home at the age of 81.
