Shehu Sani, a sociopolitical activist, has reacted to
controversy in Ondo State following the absence of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.
Sani said Ondo State was facing the situation of late
President Musa Yar’Adua.
Akeredolu has been out of office for months due to ill
health.
The governor had resumed duties in the first week of
September, after returning from a three-month medical leave in Germany.
Following his resumption, the governor has been in Oyo State
where he is allegedly recuperating.
While the governor remained out of view, a political drama
was underway in the state as the House of Assembly launched a move to impeach
his Deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, for alleged disloyalty to Akeredolu.
Amid the crisis in the state, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria,
SAN, Kayode Ajulo alleged that some Commissioners and government officials in
the state were forging Akeredolu’s signature on official documents.
But, Akeredolu, while speaking through his Chief Press
Secretary, Richard Olatunde, described the allegation as “utterly preposterous
and ludicrous,” while challenging him to present concrete evidence.
However, Sani tweeted: “Ondo State is in the ‘Yaradua
quagmire’ situation.”
