Mr Tony Akuneme, Comptroller of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) Federal Capital Territory (FCT) command, has reaffirmed the service’s commitment to employee welfare.
Akuneme made the remarks on Thursday in Abuja while visiting officers involved in a deadly traffic accident on the Kano-Zaria motorway.
In a statement issued by Mr Ifeanyi Uche, the command’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), Akuneme also assured them of the NIS’s unwavering commitment to the full treatment and rehabilitation of the affected personnel.
Recall that four NIS personnel perished and seven were injured in an automobile accident on their way back to Abuja after an official assignment in Kano.
Akuneme informed the injured personnel and their families present at the Gwagwalada Specialist Hospital that he had been delegated to see them by the Service’s Comptroller General, Caroline Adepoju.
“I want to reassure you that the service will do all it takes to ensure you are fully recovered. The CG has also pledged to cater for all financial obligations arising from the fatal accident,” he said.
