#BayelsaDecides: Diri votes, says PDP members being shut out in Nembe

Governor Douye Diri was the first to vote among his three peers in the governorship election taking place in three Bayelsa, Imo and Kogi states on Saturday.

The Governor voted less than five minutes after he arrived at his polling unit 4, Kalowoi ward 6 in Sampou community, Kolokuma Opokuma local government of the state at about 8.30 am.

Diri, commended the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC for making the process seamless at least in his polling unit.

“It’s an improvement in all elections I have participated in. It is very seamless, very fast. INEC has improved on its processes and training of its staff,” the Governor told journalists after voting.

However, the Governor said while he was satisfied with the what happened at his polling unit, it is too early for him to comment on what is happening in other parts of the place. He also raised alarm that members of PDP are being prevented from going to polling units to vote in the Nembe Basambiri area.

He insisted that PDP members must be allowed to vote in Nembe Basambiri with the full use of BIVAS during the election process.

Diri Governor said he has already informed the Chairman of INEC of the situtation in Nembe Basambri.
