The Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the Local Organising Committee (LOC) have launched the official song for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
The official song is titled “AKWABA” which means welcome in Ivorian parlance.
The musical project was piloted by the talented team at global record label, Universal Music Africa.
The song embodies a declaration of love for football, a tribute to the continent’s cultural diversity and the warm hospitality of Cote d’Ivoire.
Nigerian diva, Yemi Alade, Ivorian group Magic System, Egyptian pop icon Mohamed Ramadan and renowned producer Dany Synthe collaborated on the song.
Cote d’Ivoire will stage the 2023 AFCON finals from January 13 to February 11, 2024.
24 countries will take part in the biennial competition.
