Buhari's government shared my oil licences among themselves –Atiku

Atiku Abubakar, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 elections, says he is not worried that his litigation against President Bola Tinubu may affect his business interests.

Abubakar spoke on Thursday at a press conference he called on the academic records of Tinubu released by the Chicago State University (CSU) on Monday.

The former vice-president said he lost his oil and gas logistics licences during the regime of ex-President Muhammadu Buhari.

"I was the founder of one of the biggest oil and gas logistics companies since the military era," Abubakar told the press.

"We have got nothing to do with government. We were only contractors in logistics to the oil companies, not the government. But as soon as Buhari came, all those contracts were revoked and taken away from us till today.

"We are not doing any government business. Yes, I'm in other businesses; agriculture, manufacturing and so on and so forth.

"So, I'm not scared of any business being taken away from me. It has already been taken away from me since the beginning of, was it 1990. Since Buhari's time.

"They took it and distributed it among themselves" he said

Abubakar is challenging the declaration of Tinubu as the winner of the February 25 poll and the tribunal's judgement that upheld the president's victory on September 6.
