A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Charles
Idahosa, has hailed the judgement of the Presidential Election Petition
Tribunal.
Idahosa, a member of the Board of Trustees of the PDP
representing the South-South zone, said the judgement was clear and
unambiguous.
The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal a week ago
upheld the election of President Bola Tinubu, striking out petitions by Atiku
Abubakar of the PDP and Peter Obi of the Labour Party.
Obi and Atiku and their respective political parties had
approached the tribunal to challenge the declaration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the
All Progressives Congress, APC, as the winner of the February 25, 2023
presidential election.
Idahosa, who was a former Commissioner for Information in
Edo State, spoke to journalists in Benin on Tuesday.
“The PEPT judgement is perfect. The election was a victim of
the social media. A lot of things happen on social media that you cannot
verify.
“How can somebody tell me that if you don’t win Abuja, you
will not win the presidency?
“Are people from Abuja different from other Nigerians? I
don’t understand why people view the PEPT judgement with sentiments.
“Some said there is a watermark on the verdict paper… I have
read the judgement and it is very clear, not ambiguous. I believe that
President Tinubu will make Nigeria great again,” he said.
