The 34.85 km Oyo-Iseyin Road will be commissioned today by former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
Obasanjo will also commission the completed Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Iseyin Campus, which houses the College of Agricultural Sciences and Renewable Natural Resources.
The road, though owned by the Federal Government was rebuilt by Governor Seyi Makinde.
Messrs Kopek Construction Limited won the contract in June 2021 after approval was given by the Federal Government.
Work on the Oyo-Iseyin Road project commenced in earnest at the end of July 2021, although the official flag-off took place in December 2021.
The Oyo-Iseyin Road connects Oyo and Oke-Ogun Zone and passes through the Fasola Agribusiness Industrial Hub which is being built by the Oyo State Government.
The rebuilt road has improved commuting time between Oyo and Oke-Ogun Zones.
It is also expected to boost socio-economic activities in both agrarian zones.
