President Bola Tinubu has failed to name a minister of
petroleum resources as he assigns ministerial portfolios.
During the previous administration of former President
Muhammadu Buhari, the Minister of Petroleum portfolio was assigned to the
president.
But Buhari had assigned the Minister of State for Petroleum
to Timipre Sylva.
However, Tinubu split the ministry into two as he forms his cabinet.
Our observation was confirmed by the Director of Media and
Publicity of the defunct Tinubu-Shettima Campaign Organisation, Bayo Onanuga.
A statement by Onanuga reads partly: “Surprises as President
Tinubu releases portfolios of ministers. Tinubu has not named the Minister of
Petroleum.
“The ministry, however, has been broken into two, with 2
ministers of state, all from the South South.”
