President Bola Tinubu has said that a comprehensive forensic
audit of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, and a thorough overhaul of the Civil
Service payroll are underway to boost investors’ confidence.
Ajuri Ngelale, Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Media &
Publicity, disclosed this in a statement on Friday after World Bank President,
Ajay Banga, visited the Villa.
According to the President, the country is doing everything
possible to provide an enabling working environment for businesses.
He noted that reforms are necessary to block all financial loopholes.
“A comprehensive forensic audit is ongoing at the Central
Bank. We will do a very serious structural review of the Civil Service payroll.
I can’t believe the numbers I’m seeing; I’ve had that experience at the State
level before,” he said.
On his part, Mr Banga appreciated President Tinubu for his
efforts towards addressing the country’s economic challenges.
