The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has
claimed someone is coaching Ejikeme Mmesoma on what to say amid the forgery
allegation against her.
On Monday, Mmesoma dismissed the allegation by the board
that she forged her 2023 UTME result.
JAMB had said the student actually scored 249 in the exam —
not 362 as claimed.
But the Anambra pupil countered the board’s claim in a viral
video, saying she printed her result from the JAMB portal.
She also said the allegation has left her “‘traumatised,” adding
that “I am not capable of forging my own result”.
Addressing Mmesoma’s counter-argument in an interview with
Channels TV on Tuesday, Fabian Benjamin, JAMB’s spokesperson, said “there are
people behind” the student’s action.
“If you look at her posture – look at the video very well.
If you look at the video critically, you will see that somebody is coaching her
on what to say. Just sit down and look at the video she posted yesterday,” he
said.
“So, certainly, there
are people behind it (her action), and those are the people that we are looking
for.”
The board had earlier withdrawn Mmesoma’s result and
suspended her from partaking in UTME for the next three years over the
incident.
