Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has said the G5 discussed
national issues with President Bola Tinubu on Thursday in Abuja.
Better known as the Integrity Group, the Peoples Democratic
Party (PDP) chieftains visited the President at the State House.
The delegation included former Governors Okezie Ikpeazu
(Abia), Samuel Ortom (Benue), Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu) and Nyesom Wike
(Rivers).
Makinde informed reporters that the parley centred on nation-building which he said required evaluation and consultation.
“Nation-building is a difficult task. You have to keep
evaluating. We have to keep seeing the President, to let him know what is
happening.
“The G-5, the Integrity Group, came to let the President
know what we stand for: fairness, justice and equity,” he added.
The Oyo helmsman and Wike have now met with Tinubu at the
Presidential Villa twice this week.
The G5 was formed after former Vice President Atiku Abubakar
emerged as the PDP presidential candidate in May last year.
