President Bola Tinubu has hinted at a review of the national
minimum wage.
Tinubu said the national minimum wage needs a review to
reflect current realities.
He spoke while receiving members of the Progressive
Governors Forum (PGF), led by its chairman, Hope Uzodinma, at the Presidential
Villa, Abuja, on Friday.
The president said improving the livelihood of Nigerians
remains a top priority of his administration.
According to Tinubu: “We need to do some arithmetic and
soul-searching on the minimum wage.
“We will have to take a look at that together, and the
revenue. We must strengthen the source and application of our revenue.’’
This comes after he declared an end to the fuel subsidy
regime in the country.
