Crystal Palace forward, Eberechi Eze, has insisted he has no regret dumping the Super Eagles of Nigeria to represent England.
Eze scored 10 goals and provided four assists in 38 Premier League appearances.
His impressive form has seen him called up by Gareth Southgate.
In December 2019, the ex-president of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick, met with Eze and expressed optimism that he would play for the national team.
At the time, Eze had played for England at the Under-20 and Under-21 levels.
But, Eze, speaking to ESPN, has revealed that receiving the England senior call-up was his best decision.
“We think that this is the best one. It is a big opportunity for me. It is the highest level of football. I look at it with no regret at all.
“It is the highest level of football. You want to test yourself against that, you want to be in that, and you can see from the quality of the team, where they are getting to, the confidence they are playing with, it is incredible. So, being part of that is big.
“I received the call, and I felt it was the right decision to make, and I am very, very happy to be here,” Eze said.
