Renowned Mass Communication Professor at the Lagos State
University (LASU), Lai Oso, has died in a road accident.
Oso died on Saturday evening when his car reportedly plunged
into a river along the Ijebu axis of Ogun State.
The Dean, Faculty of Communication and Media Studies, FCMS,
Lagos State University, Professor Sunday Alawode, confirmed Oso’s death.
It was gathered that the academic was returning to Lagos from
Delta State University (DELSU), where he was an external examiner at the
Department of Mass Communication.
The 67-year-old Oso was a communication and media studies
teacher at Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, from where he headed for Olabisi
Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye and later, the Lagos State University.
An author of many scholarly publications, Oso is survived by
his wife and children.
