Members of staff of the Government House and other political
appointees were moved to tears as Governor Muhammad Badaru left the Government
House on Friday after the state valedictory executive council meeting.
Recall that the Governor had dissolved his cabinet ahead of
the 29th May inauguration of new administration.
In a momentous event marking the end of his era and the
beginning of a new administration, Governor Mohammed Badaru formally presented
the handover documents to his successor, Alhaji Umar Namadi, at a ceremony held
at the Jigawa State Government House.
Governor Badaru reiterated his commitment to ensure a seamless transition to the incoming government.
“It is with great honour and humility that I present these
handover documents to the Governor-elect, Alhaji Umar Namadi. As we transition
from one administration to another, we must maintain stability and ensure the
well-being of our people.
“I have full confidence in Alhaji Namadi’s leadership
abilities, and I pledge my unwavering support during this transition period,”
he said.
He appreciates the members of his executive council,
political appointees, civil servants, and the people of the state for their
support and cooperation.
It was observed that some of the executive council members,
appointees, and staff in the government House were shedding tears as the
Governor bid them farewell.
It was learnt however that the Governor would not be present
during the inauguration as he may travel to Saudi Arabia, as the 2023 state
Amiril-Hajj.
Governor-elect, Umar Namadi, in his response, expressed his
gratitude to the Governor for his dedication and service to Jigawa State.
He promised to build on the successes of the past
administration and introduce innovative policies that will enhance the lives of
the citizens
