Bola Tinubu, president-elect, has returned to the country
after a working visit to Europe.
While in Europe, Tinubu reportedly met with Rabiu Kwankwaso, presidential candidate of
the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), who might join his cabinet when he takes
office.
The president-elect, who spent about 10 days in Europe, was
received at the Abuja airport by Senate President Ahmad Lawan, Kashim Shettima,
vice-president-elect, Godswill Akpabio, a former minister of Niger Delta
affairs, and Abdullahi Ganduje, governor of Kano, among others.
Tunde Rahman, Tinubu’s media aide, had said his principal
would meet with investors and finetune transition plans.
The former governor of Lagos state is expected to assume
office on May 29 when the second term of President Muhammadu Buhari elapses.
