Nigeria exacted revenge on Guinea-Bissau in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying series with a 1-0 win in Bissau on Monday.
The Super Eagles had suffered a shock 1-0 defeat to the Djurtus just last Friday.
However, Moses Simon’s first penalty was enough for Jose Peseiro’s men to win the reverse fixture.
The result takes Nigeria back to the top of Group A with nine points. They now have two more than Guinea-Bissau.
It also ended a four-match losing streak for the three-time African champions.
Sierra Leone occupy third place with five points, while Sao Tome and Principe have just one point.
