Presidential election: Bode George reveals PDP’s major problem

Ahead of Saturday’s presidential election, a prominent member and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Bode George, has revealed the party’s major problem.

George said that the problem the PDP have ahead of this weekend’s general election is that the managers of the party have failed to manage it well.

Speaking on Arise TV on Wednesday, George said the leaders of PDP have failed to include the southwest in vital positions in the party ahead of this year’s general election.

George said, “The managers of the current party did not manage it well. See the scenario now. The presidential candidate is northeast, the director general of the national campaign is North West, the national chairman of the party is in the north-central, the vice presidential candidate is from the south-south, and the acting chairman of the board of trustees is from the southeast.

“Where is the south-west in all these? Where is that inclusivity, so that is the problem we have and the integrity group still stands so fast without belief? [Where is] fairness and equity?”

Recall that crises erupted in the PDP when Atiku Abubakar picked Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State as his running mate.

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has been aggrieved with the party’s leadership over Atiku’s choice of a running mate.

Following Atiku’s action, Wike called for the resignation of Iyorchia Ayu as the National Chairman of the PDP.

Wike noted that the North could not produce PDP’s presidential flagbearer and the National Chairman.
